Niagara River Golf Club - Fort Erie, Ontario

With spectacular views of the Niagara River, the 18-hole championship public golf course is anticipated to set a new standard for upscale, world-class golf in Niagara when it opens for scheduled play in 2007.

Set on over 225 acres along the Niagara Parkway with stunning views of the Niagara River, and complementing the distinctiveness and beauty of the Upper Niagara River Region in Fort Erie, this environmentally sensitive parkland beauty will challenge you while providing lush landscapes, mature woodlands, wetlands, exceptional panoramas, pristine gardens and visual experiences reminiscent of famed Augusta National, commented project developer and owner Bruno Dammizio.

Designed by world-renowned US golf architect Arthur Hills, the championship golf course measures out at over 7,450 yards from the Black tees and represents a flagship initiative in Canada for Arthur Hills.

Upscale facilities include a comprehensive, state-of-the-art Golf Academy, including Academy Training Facility, Teaching Center and Short Game School staffed by expert golf instructors, comprising over 15 acres dedicated to quality instruction and practice on both the short and long game.

The stunning English Manor style golf clubhouse, designed with the assistance of acclaimed Atlanta clubhouse consultant Dick Diedrich and respected clubhouse architects Richard Wengle Architects of Toronto, will rival the best clubhouses that Canada has to offer as far as quality, design and golfer amenities …including stunning terraced outdoor gardens set in a tranquil lush landscaped setting offering great views of golf.

Canada’s leading golf course construction firm Persimmon Golf (Bigwin Island, Taboo, Copper Creek) is the project manager for the development. “An outstanding Best-in-Class project team has been assembled to carry out the vision for this exciting world-class initiative”, noted Mr. Dammizio.

It is anticipated that this $25 million dollar initiative will be a key catalyst for tourism and economic benefits for the Town of Fort Erie, and the Niagara Region in general. The bulk of this budget will be allocated and committed to supporting local businesses, construction firms, and product suppliers in Fort Erie and Niagara commented Mr. Dammizio, who is originally from the Niagara region, and stressed the importance of contributing to the community’s prosperity.

Niagara River Golf Club is set in the heart of Niagara in the region of Fort Erie, minutes from major attractions, including The Falls, just along the scenic Niagara River, and is easily accessible via the QEW from Toronto or the US. When it opens for play in 2007, it should complement Niagara’s first-class Legends Golf Courses, strategically and synergistically, and contribute significantly to the attractiveness of the Fort Erie / Niagara Region as a potential golfing Mecca and a sought-after tourist destination.
